Sterling Computers Corporation, an industry-leading technology solutions provider, today announced its acquisition of an 83,000-square foot office space and a 106,000-square foot distribution center. Located in North Sioux City, SD, the buildings once housed Gateway Computers and will now act as the corporate headquarters for Sterling, South Dakota’s largest technology company.
The purchase marks the first phase in an ongoing expansion initiative, one that sees Sterling investing in local property and solidifying its Siouxland roots. Plans call for a complete renovation of the two-story office space with an emphasis on fostering a modern work environment akin to those found in Silicon Valley. Designs include open concepts and ample green space, numerous employee amenities, and an atmosphere conducive to collaboration and growth.
“This campus was a natural choice for our new headquarters,” said Brad Moore, President and CEO of Sterling, “as it allows us to accelerate our expansion plans while still grounding the company in our local, Midwest roots. We look forward to adding jobs and partnering with other investors to reinvigorate the former Gateway campus, where many of our employees once called home.”
As a value-added supplier of IT products, Sterling serves customers nationwide, from federal and local government agencies to education and commercial clients. With over twenty-two years of industry experience, Sterling helps those customers find, evaluate, procure, implement, and support technical solutions, using strategic partnerships and a consultative approach to “turn What if into reality.”
Along with the South Dakota facilities, Sterling has locations in Sacramento, CA; Austin, TX; Norfolk and Omaha, NE; Tampa, FL; and Dulles, VA, just outside of Washington D.C. Sterling has earned numerous distinctions since its inception, including appearances on the Inc. 5000, Washington Technology’s Top 100, CRN’s Fast Growth 150, and the Boeing Silver Performance Excellence Award.
“We’re proud to still call Siouxland home,” added Moore. “For us, this move feels like a homecoming of sorts—and the next step forward.”
Renovations are slated to begin later this month with an estimated completion date of summer 2019.
